Collection Two/2021

About the Collection

An ode to the Monarch butterfly, this exclusive piece is part of a capsule collection centered around the Monarch butterfly and it’s endangerment.

From Canada to Mexico, the butterfly’s migration is hindered by the destruction of their habitat. It symbolizes a collaborative effort to renew the species' environment through the sharing of knowledge and act of care.

The limited edition print, inspired by the magical insect, is featured on four timeless Silk Laundry pieces: the 90s Silk Slip Dress, the Camp Shirt, the Boxer Shorts and the Big Scrunchie.

All pieces have been hand illustrated by Laura Prochowski and designed across Montreal and Australia by Katie Kolodinski.

Save the Monarchs

Help us save The Fields of Monarchs.

We oppose the construction by Meltech Innovation Canada, an affiliate of the Medicom Group, of an industrial building to produce medical mask material on the north part of lot 5 599 104 located on Chemin de l'Aviation, Dorval, Quebec.

This industrial building is in completely the wrong place. It is to be located directly on top of Monarch Butterfly Fields, themselves part of an invaluable ecosystem much of which lies within federally-owned land north of Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.

In the accompanying public documentation for this project this statement is made: "No wetlands, waterways, sensitive species or habitats or protected zones are present on the site." The claim that there are no sensitive species on the Monarch Fields, and that they are not a sensitive habitat, is completely false.

The individual butterfly drawn on each page represents the revitalisation of the Monarch’s species made possible during recent years thanks to the combined efforts of multiple institutions, citizens and organisations to fight against its extinction.

Made of Mulberry paper - Mulberry being a tree that monarchs love to eat and from which silkworms nourish themselves, Hand illustrated by Laura Prochowski and produced locally in the St-Lawrence Valley just outside of Montreal by Bianca of Cahier Scribe.

Planting of the Milkweed Seeds

Each year, thousands of monarch butterflies embark on a great migration.

At the end of 2020 we gifted Milkweed seed packets with all Canadian orders to help rebuild the Monarch Migratory path.
